Veeam Availability Orchestrator Makes Recovery More Reliable

Veeam Office

Veeam recently announced the upcoming release of Veeam Availability Orchestrator, a multi-hypervisor Disaster Recovery orchestration engine that enables enterprise companies to easily execute, test and document their recovery plans. According to Veeam, Disaster Recovery and Data Protection are key areas for improving availability against unplanned IT outages. In the 2016 Veeam Availability Report, which garnered responses from 1,140 senior decision-makers in IT, the company found that organizations which ignore making availability a strategic priority risk losing up to $16 million per year in revenue.

Veeam Availability Orchestrator provides orchestration of Veeam backups and replicas through a defined Disaster Recovery plan, non-disruptive testing, automated documenting, updating and reporting. This concoction of capabilities helps customers ensure data and application availability, maintain reliability, reduce costs of manual processes, and satisfy stringent compliance requirements. Veeam Availability Orchestrator also includes the following features:

  • Thorough coordination of Veeam backups and replicas through a defined Disaster Recovery plan
  • Automatic testing to maintain reliability and avoid expensive manual processes
  • Built-in documenting, updating and reporting of Disaster Recovery plans to satisfy compliance requirements

Veeam;’s CEO Ratmir Timashev concludes: “Well orchestrated and tested DR plans continue to remain one of the primary challenges facing CIOs. While many enterprises have plans in place, they are complex and cumbersome, which means they are often unreliable and difficult to execute, as well as untested and outdated. This puts compliance and enterprise availability at risk. The new Veeam Availability Orchestrator continues our mission to enable enterprises to achieve 24/7/365 availability. It enables modern SLAs for data and application recovery to be met, reduces costs, increases reliability by eliminating manual processes, all while satisfying compliance requirements.”

Veeam Availability Orchestrator will be available later in 2016 and is designed to work with Veeam Availability Suite and Veeam Backup & Replication. Customers are required to own an Enterprise Plus license for either Veeam Availability Suite or Veeam Backup & Replication.
