Asigra has assembled a nice collection of presentations at Slideshare and we have found this one to be particularly short and to the point. It is a simple 13 slide deck that highlights the top reasons for data loss. As the forward by Asigra ppoints out, “It is a good idea to know about the most common causes of data loss so that you may benefit from them and avoid any future mishaps.”
Among the reasons listed: 1. Unavailability of IT staff 2. Impaired connectivity hampering recovery 3. Granular file recovery was unavailable 4. Human error 5. Rogue employee 6. Accidental deletion of a file 7. Damaged target media 8. Corrupted backup data.
