Asigra Launches Asigra Cloud Backup with Deep MFA

Asigra Launches Asigra Cloud Backup with Deep MFAAsigra Inc. recently announced the general availability of Asigra Cloud Backup with Deep MFA. This addition makes the solution one of the most heavily defended backup platforms on the market. Deep Multi-Factor Authentication delivers mission-critical layers of protection to secure policy settings and controls to prevent backup data deletions or malicious encryption caused by the use of malware by criminal organizations or human error.

Our Buyer’s Guide for Backup and Disaster Recovery helps you evaluate the best solution for your use case and features profiles of the leading providers, as well as a category overview of the marketplace.

Asigra is built for cloud computing environments and designed to offer backup efficiencies by allowing enterprises to capture, ingest, and store less data. Designed for compatibility with public, private, and hybrid cloud architectures, the Asigra Cloud Backup solution is equipped with agentless software architecture, global deduplication and data compression technology along with NIST FIPS 140-2 certified security. Also, the vendor reduces recovery time objectives and eliminates silos of backup data.

Critical features of Asigra Cloud Backup with Deep MFA include:

  • Deep MFA: This form of app-centric MFA-enabled passwordless sign-in is available throughout the software stack to protect sensitive data at multiple levels in the system. Once logged in through MFA, admins will be able to configure access to control which users can sign into the Asigra Management Console and other mission-critical areas of the application without using a password.
  • Deep MFA Immutable Retention: Immutable retention prevents malware and unauthorized sources from deleting, modifying, or encrypting backup data from object storage during the immutable retention period.
  • Deep MFA Secure Setup Wizard: This feature provides management console users with a guided tour through the initial setup process, including configuration of security settings, DS-System and DS-Client connections, user, permissions, and email/alert settings.
  • Deep MFA Credentials Management: Asigra Management Console users can now configure and manage their credentials from a single location. Once the credentials are saved, users select them when creating a backup set, rather than manually entering them each time.

In a press statement, Eran Farajun, EVP of Asigra, said, “cybersecurity has become the new battleground in data protection as hackers develop criminally innovative techniques that put legitimate business operations at risk, resulting in either forced ransomware payments or lost data. Asigra has set the bar for backup data security with Deep MFA. Because it only takes one successful phishing attack to wrestle the login from an unsuspecting administrator, app-centric authentication adds a series of gates to stop attacks and alert the organization before damage occurs.”
