Barracuda Networks offers a complete cloud-integrated solution to protect physical and virtual environments that includes software, appliance, and offsite replication. The solution is simple to deploy, easy to manage, and offers users unlimited cloud storage. With an extensive range of supported environments and integration with copy file sync and share services, organizations can replace multi-vendor piecemeal backup solutions with an all-in-one appliance. The platform supports replication to another Barracuda appliance for private-cloud data protection or secure transfer to the Barracuda Cloud.

Through this acquisition, SKOUT continues Barracuda’s strategic mergers and acquisitions, which includes the 2020 acquisition of Zero Trust Access provider, Fyde. SKOUT also adds to Barracuda’s previous integrations with Open XDR platforms, expanding Barracuda’s portfolio with an XDR platform designed for MSPs, backed by a 24×7 security operation center (SOC).

In a press statement, Brian Babineau, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Barracuda MSP, said, “MSPs must be able to protect their customers’ end-users, their devices, and the data they are accessing with these devices against increasingly sophisticated threats. To achieve this level of protection for their customers, and themselves, MSPs are transforming their businesses into ‘security-centric’ operations. The addition of SKOUT enables Barracuda’s MSP partners to deploy security solutions across their environments, connecting their data feeds into a unified, 24×7 operation for swift analysis and response.”

SKOUT’s solution includes an XDR platform that connects with critical infrastructures, including email, firewall, identity and access, and a SOC that facilitates the detection of and response to cyberattacks. By integrating with existing security infrastructure, SKOUT offers investment protection for MSPs, making it easier to combat cyber-attacks in diverse customer environments.

The acquisition is expected to close in July, subject to obtaining required regulatory and third-party consents, and satisfaction of other customary closing conditions.
