Commvault Launches Enhancements to Commvault Disaster RecoveryCommvault has announced enhanced capabilities for its Commvault Disaster Recovery solution. Commvault Disaster Recovery now supports recovery automation with continuous replication for VMware workloads. Additionally, the solution supports orchestration to, from, and between on-premises, Microsoft Azure, and Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Commvault provides data protection and information management software to help organizations protect, access, and use their data economically. The vendor has a long list of supported public cloud providers, hypervisors, big data support, and database protection. The platform is primarily offered as a software-only solution, but Commvault also has an appliance option. Recently, Commvault acquired the data storage solution provider, Hedvig. Additionally, Commvault also recently launched Metallic, its division of SaaS solutions.

With this announcement, Commvault now offers disaster recovery automation for Microsoft Azure and AWS within zones or across regions, along with simple cross-cloud migration support. Commvault’s solution provides scalable replication and disaster recovery automation through a single extensible platform. Automated failover and failback deliver verifiable recoverability, as well as comprehensive reporting for both monitoring and compliance. The platform enables continuous data replication with fully automated disaster recovery capabilities.
