Commvault Launches HyperScale X, First Integration of Hedvig Technology

Commvault recently announced the launch of Commvault HyperScale X at Commvault FutureReady 2020. HyperScale X is the latest generation of the provider’s fully integrated scale-out data management solution and is the first product in the portfolio to integrate technology from the recent acquisition of Hedvig. Commvault HyperScale X is an intuitive scale-out appliance that is fully integrated with Commvault’s intelligent data management platform.

Commvault provides data protection and information management software to assist organizations with protecting, accessing, and using all of their data economically. The vendor has a long list of supported public cloud providers, hypervisors, big data support, and database protection as well. The platform is primarily offered as a software-only solution, but Commvault also has an appliance option. Recently, Commvault acquired data storage solution provider, Hedvig. Additionally, Commvault also recently launched Metallic, its division of SaaS solutions.

Integrated with the power of Commvault Hedvig, HyperScale X delivers scalability, security, and resiliency to accelerate an enterprise’s digital transformation journey as they move to hybrid cloud, container, and virtualized environments. The platform’s flexible architecture also allows users to get up and running quickly and scale as their needs change. Improvements include enhanced resiliency by maintaining availability in the event of concurrent hardware failures, delivering improved SLAs and minimized operational impact.

The platform also provides data protection for all workloads, optimized scalability on-prem and in the cloud, and built-in ransomware protection and artificial intelligence/machine learning anomaly detection.
