This week,\u00a0SAP unveiled, SAP HANA 2<\/a>, the next-generation of the SAP HANA platform optimized to provide the agility needed to allow companies to access any data, from any source, at any speed. The new edition offers flexible tools, advanced analytical capabilities, and high security and scalability, giving companies the ability to manage their data and their databases, and\u00a0gain deeper insight into their business.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In addition, developers can now leverage microservices in the cloud to embed advanced analytics for insight driven applications. More good news: These services are available on a pay-as-you-go basis. SAP provides a user case to describe how microservices in the cloud are facilitating advanced analytics:<\/p>\n

“One great example is the Earth Observation microservice. Co-innovated with the European Space Agency, an SAP partner, this microservice delivers geo data to applications that query a catalog of satellite images and metadata to monitor change on earth. It delivers high-resolution imagery and rich data sets of land, sea, vegetation, climate, and atmospheric monitoring.”<\/p>\n
