The HyperScale Software solutions provide scale-out infrastructure to the Commvault Data Platform, according to the company. The tools also integrate easily with storage arrays, hypervisors, applications and a variety of cloud provider solutions. HyperScale Software supports a hybrid of IT environments and can move workloads across any kind of infrastructure including public cloud, private cloud and on-prem environments.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Commvault HyperScale technology leverages a built-in operating environment, virtualization, and storage technologies from Red Hat to provide a robust, enterprise-grade foundation,\u201d according to a release<\/a> from the company.<\/p>\n

Commvault\u2019s HyperScale Appliance and HyperScale Software aim to help businesses utilize secondary storage to drive IT transformation initiatives. About 70 percent of customer data is consumed as a secondary copy, according to Commvault, and the vendor\u2019s HyperScale solutions can address the demands of the secondary storage market.<\/p>\n

\u201cYesterday\u2019s architectures for enterprise data protection are simply inadequate for the kinds of agility and efficiency that modern organizations of all sizes are demanding,\u201d said Jason Buffington, principal data protection analyst, ESG. \u201cCommvault has a long history of continually innovating ahead of market demand in response to the ever evolving and heightening data protection landscape. As such, it is not surprising to see Commvault disrupting the status quo of legacy appliances and antiquated approaches, as well as heading off niche alternatives, with its HyperScale offerings.\u201d<\/p>\n

The HyperScale Appliance is a \u201chighly differentiated data infrastructure solution that tightly integrates compute, storage, networking, virtualization, backup and recovery, full lifecycle data management and analytics into a single platform across the data center and in the cloud.\u201d\u00a0The product is built on Commvault’s technology and allows clients to decrease complexity and cost while giving both scalability and IT agility a boost.<\/span><\/p>\n

Commvault\u2019s HyperScale Software is a \u201cunique scale-out infrastructure based on customer hardware preferences, enabling organizations to choose hardware configuration sizes and models from leading technology companies, including these initial program participants: Fujitsu, Cisco, Lenovo, HPE, Super Micro Computer, Huawei and Dell-EMC.\u201d Tested configurations that offer validated designs complemented by best-practice configurations were delivered to Commvault clients. The method allows organizations to pair hardware configurations and capacity to their secondary storage needs.<\/p>\n
