\"OwnBackupOwnBackup recently announced<\/a> that it raised $15.5 million in a C-round investment<\/a> led by Vertex Ventures.<\/a> The backup and recovery company plans to use this funding on marketing, increasing its workforce across scales, and research and development, with the intention of scaling their business. Ownbackup\u2019s<\/a> previous July 2017 round was worth $7.5 million, making its total funding $26.5 million since it was founded in 2011.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a press statement, OwnBackup CEO, Sam Gutmann says, \u201cwith the support of our investors, we will continue to provide the ultimate in independent data protection peace of mind – ensuring that companies have the same data protection in their cloud environments as their on-premise applications.
