Yellowbrick Announces General Availability of Cloud Disaster Recovery

Yellowbrick Data recently announced the general availability of its Cloud Disaster Recovery service. Additionally, the provider launched new database replication and enhanced backup and restore features that reduce cost and complexity in the business continuity strategies of Yellowbrick users. These new offerings also provide the speed, granular control, and management that enterprises need to back up and restore large datasets.

Yellowbrick Data provides a data warehouse for hybrid and multi-cloud environments. Additionally, the vendor offers the ability to run analytic workloads on-premises, in a private cloud, and/or in any public cloud and manage them consistently. Yellowbrick offers hybrid cloud architecture, cloud data warehouses, and on-prem data warehouses in addition to cloud disaster recovery.

Yellowbrick’s new offerings support backups at near-line speed, allow for incremental backups, and provide transactional consistency of restored data. These tools also enable the automation of backup and restore operations without intermediate storage. Cloud Disaster Recovery offers rich support for database replication through streaming in order to provide continuous, asynchronous replication that transmits all changes within seconds. Yellowbrick also supports arbitrary topologies to ensure it can meet customer needs.

In a press statement, Nick Cox, Yellowbrick head of products said, “we’re complementing the existing business continuity functionality inside a single Yellowbrick Data Warehouse — including support for high availability, erasure coding, and fault tolerance — with new features that provide continuity across databases and locations in a low-cost, low-effort way using the power and flexibility of hybrid cloud architecture. Cloud Disaster Recovery also offers low-cost database replication as a service that delivers business continuity support for Yellowbrick data warehouses. Users can choose one or more target databases to replicate to a second instance, either between cloud regions or form an on-prem instance to any cloud region, with full failover and failback capabilities.
