Zerto offers an IT Resilience Platform, which combines backup, disaster recovery, and cloud mobility into one converged solution. Through an enterprise scale, the provider’s software platform delivers continuous availability, which minimizes downtime. Additionally, IT Resilience simplifies workload mobility to freely protect, recover, and move applications across hybrid and multi-clouds. Users can replace their legacy solutions through Zerto’s single platform. Zerto also powers resiliency offerings for Microsoft Azure, IBM Cloud, and AWS. The provider was recently acquired by Hewlett Packard Enterprise.

Zerto 9 enables immutability settings for long-term data retention to be easily managed from within the Zerto user interface. With these settings, users have the ability to set how long backups can remain unaltered, securing them in the cloud to prevent malicious deletion or modification of data, including ransomware. Additionally, immutability support is available for Amazon S3 in this release.

In a media statement, Deepak Verma, vice president of product management at Zerto, said, “Zerto 9 enables organizations to defend their business from the consequences of ransomware, and with fully orchestrated failover and failback, organizations can recover infected applications and data from just seconds back. With just a few clicks, our journal-based recovery is flexible enough to recover only what is needed, whether that’s files, virtual machines, or an entire application stack from a point-in-time. As ransomware attacks continue to escalate, these are game-changing capabilities that we have had built into our platform for many years now, and they just keep getting better with every release.”

Zerto 9 also adds new automated VM protection to ensure complete, flexible data protection across each environment, even when new VMs are added. Through the use of native vSphere tags, servers can now be instantly added to Virtual Protection Groups (VPGs) without any manual configuration to quickly protect workloads with new or existing protection groups and apply existing SLA rules, including pre-validation and alerts. Additionally, users can find training on the advanced Zerto 9 capabilities in various updated hands-on labs, including recovering from ransomware in a safe lab environment.
