AtScale Secures Round B Funding to Provide Business Intelligence on Hadoop

AtScale

AtScale has officially announced that they’ve secured a Series B funding round worth $11 million. The new investment brings AtScale’s total amount raised $20 million in 3 rounds, which includes 6 different investors. This newest investment was led by Comcast Ventures, but also included participation from UMC, AME Ventures, Storm Ventures and XSeed Capital. AtScale will use the new cash to continue to deliver Business Intelligence on Hadoop to the enterprise.

AtScale was launched publicly one year ago and has already enjoyed five-fold revenue growth. In addition, their customers represent some of the top companies in the world, including the likes of Home Depot, Bloomberg, Groupon, and the Yellow Pages. With Hadoop deployment becoming increasingly common in the enterprise, AtScale has positioned itself as a leader in allowing organizations to run their preferred Business Intelligence tools on top of it.

AtScale features a unique architecture that allows it to provide people with unlimited access to Big Data while using the tools they are familiar with, all while staying compliant to security and governmental frameworks. As a result, AtScale’s widespread adoption across a wide variety of verticals is not surprising. AtScale’s Founder and CEO Dave Mariani adds: “While other companies have been spending their time raising large funding rounds, our focus has been on building a solution that solves problems for enterprise customers.”

Currently, AtScale is the only solution provider to include an open and Hadoop-native solution for Business Intelligence on Hadoop. AtScale has built upon this with notable partnerships with leading Big Data and Data Visualization companies like Tableau and Microsoft. In AtScale’s latest release, the company announced the addition of Data Governance security functionality, making the tool more secure and flexible. AtScale’s solution requires no data movement, installs no new client driver on users’ machines, and provides a dimensional semantic layer between Hadoop and an organization’s preferred Business Intelligence framework.
