DBTA Names Winners of 2018 Reader Choice Awards for Best Data Visualization Solution

Database Trends and Applications recently released its 2018 Readers’ Choice Awards winners, a listing of the best solution providers chosen by the publication’s subscribers. What sets this apart from other DBTA awards programs is that actual users have nominated and chosen the winners, not the journal’s researchers – a trend that is becoming increasingly common amongst the major analyst houses. The awards are broken down by technology category and aimed at highlighting the products that “provide unique value.”

DBTA features 28 category specific awards that span a number of solution providers. Given the changing nature of each marketplace that was analyzed, some of the vendors are household names while others are up-and-comers looking to establish themselves in the data and analytics space. We’re profiling each category winner to see if user sentiment lines up with our own research in an attempt to help you select the best data visualization solution. The crowd selects: Qlik Sense

Qlik offers a broad spectrum of BI and analytics tools, which is headlined by the company’s flagship offering, Qlik Sense. The solution allows organizations to combine all their data sources into a single view. The in-memory engine and associative analytics indexes every possible relationship to data, and the platform is available on-prem (Qlik Sense Enterprise) or in the cloud (Qlik Sense Cloud). Qlik’s product portfolio is rounded out by its Qlik Analytics Platform (embedded and custom tools), and Qlik View, the company’s first-generation data discovery tool.

The solution now includes several new visualization types, including a Box Plot, Distribution Chart, and Histogram that allows users to make better sense of their data. Users will also be able to apply custom coloring to particular data values within master dimensions. The updated tool also provides smart data preparation capabilities so users can load, transform and enrich their data without the need for scripting.

We encourage you to read the DBTA Readers’ Choice Awards Best Data Visualization Solution for the full list of winners.
