Gartner Names 5 Cool Vendors in Data Science and Machine Learning, 2018

Analyst house Gartner, Inc. has released its newest vendor reporting highlighting five emerging solution providers that offer CIOs innovative alternatives in the data and analytics space. Its Cool Vendors in Data Science and Machine Learning zones in on startups that offer some disruptive capability or opportunity. Gartner says that cool vendors “exist across all major areas of technology and innovation” and CIOs that pay close attention to these trends can avoid the “disadvantage in trying to keep up.”

DimensionalMechanics

DimensionalMechanics offers an intuitive development and management platform for AI called NeoPulse. It provides a suite of horizontal, reusable tools that enable companies to answer questions using a simplified and consistent  approach. Based in Bellevue, Washington, the company has raised more than $7 million in venture capital since its founding in 2015.

Immuta

Immuta offers a hyperscale data management platform that provides data scientists with fast, personalized data access to improve the creation, deployment and auditability of machine learning and AI. The company is based in Washington DC and has raised $29.5 million in venture capital since its founding in 2014.

Indico

Indico provides enterprise AI solutions for intelligent process automation. The company focuses on automating back-office tasks and improving efficiency for document-based workflows. Indico’s software features transfer learning, a set of capabilities that allows users to train machine learning models with orders of magnitude less data than required by other techniques. The company is based in Boston, Massachusetts and was founded in 2013.

Octopai

Octopai is a centralized, cross-platform metadata management automation solution that enables data and analytics teams to discover and govern shared metadata. The product does metadata scanning by automatically gathering it from ETL, databases and reporting tools. Metadata is stored and managed in a central repository, and a smart engine using hundreds of crawlers searches all metadata and presents results quickly.

ParallelM

ParallelM’s offers an enterprise-grade MLOps (machine learning operations) platform. Its MCenter solution MCenter moves machine learning pipelines into production, automates orchestration, and guarantees machine learning performance. The tool is powered by IONs (Intelligence Overlay Networks), a new paradigm for machine learning management. Founded in 2014, ParallelM is based in Tel Aviv, Israel.
