‘Powered’ by Looker Expands Embedded BI Platform

Powered by Looker

Looker has launched ‘Powered’, an upgraded offering that enables businesses to deliver the functionality of the Looker business intelligence platform as an embedded service. Users can now embed Looker analytics into any website, application, or portal. Additionally, with the OEM option, organizations currently using ‘Powered’ by Looker can offer the entire platform to their customers, partners, and users to explore and analyze their data.

Traditionally, business intelligence solutions require a large upfront investment to deploy architecture, prepare manicured data warehouses, and pay for exorbitant license agreements. Furthermore, legacy BI solutions were not built to provide support for modern web applications. Looker’s embedded BI solution functions as a lightweight web server application and can be deployed on-premise or in the cloud, which then connects to a database without storing or moving the data.

With ‘Powered’, organizations that already have a portal or application that provides static reporting to their users, as well as those companies currently in the process of implementing those kinds of reporting tactics, can now embed interactive, real-time analytics inside their existing infrastructure. In this way, users can gain a more robust look into their data. Looker’s BI is easy to deploy and manage, and offers a unique metadata layer for building custom analytics.

Organizations looking to provide deeper analytical capabilities to their customers now also have the option to provide the full Looker embedded platform on an OEM basis. These new features will allow organizations to go to market quickly with more powerful and customized data.

Looker’s CEO Frank Bien is excited about the company’s new offering: “We are introducing a whole new way for Looker to deliver business insights. Our customers can now create an external-facing data discovery environment with the same flexibility, power and rapid deployment that business users have come to expect from a solution like Looker. Because the Looker architecture is fully cloud-based, deployment of Powered by Looker under either model is quick and painless. Powered by Looker users never have to worry about switching back and forth between desktop development and cloud publishing again. Everything they need to manage and deploy self-service analytics for their customers is right at their fingertips.”
