Qlik has announced the release of Qlik Alerting, a self-service alerting add-on for the Qlik Sense platform. Qlik offers a broad spectrum of BI and analytics tools, which is headlined by the company’s flagship offering, Qlik Sense. The solution enables organizations to combine all their data sources into a single view. The Qlik Analytics Platform allows users to develop, extend and embed visual analytics in existing applications and portals. Embedded functionality is done within a common governance and security framework.

Qlik Alerting features sophisticated alert criteria based on advanced statistical calculation and trending, comparisons and percentage changes, nested logic and drill into dimension capabilities. As a result, it provides both self-service alerting and centrally-managed enterprise-wide alerts. Alerts are delivered via email and a dedicated mobile application. When users engage with an alert, they are directed to the appropriate dashboards and analytics, with the right selections applied.

In a media statement about the release, the company’s Chief Product Officer James Fisher said: “Qlik Alerting helps customers go beyond dashboards and analytical applications, creating the real-time intelligence loop needed to take action when it has the biggest impact. Qlik Alerting will allow customers to move from passive to active data consumption, extending the value of data by connecting the analysis of changes in data to immediate alerts and notifications sent downstream to users or other systems.”

Qlik plans to add enhanced alerting functionality in the future to include integration with workflow and robotic process automation solutions through APIs.
