These Are the Best Cloud BI and Analytics Solutions Right Now

The Cloud Awards has released its picks for the Best Cloud Business Intelligence or Analytics Solution, a report in the mold of the Forbes Cloud 100 that includes the providers it sees as leaders in the space. The Cloud Awards program was founded by a group of technical engineers, business leaders and marketers with the aim of revealing innovation in cloud computing. The program is available to cloud technology providers across the globe and features a number of different software categories.

The cloud has become a major disruptor in many of the key enterprise software categories, with none impacted more than BI and data management. As adoption of cloud technologies becomes more prevalent, we expect this trend to continue. Solutions Review had a chance to peruse the new Cloud Awards report, available here, and compiled what we think are the key takeaways from the business intelligence and analytics section.

ThoughtSpot takes the cake

The Cloud Awards chose ThoughtSpot as the top cloud BI and analytics provider (delineated by the bolded word WINNER to the right). 2019 has been nothing but wins for the Palo Alto-based analytics platform provider, peaking with a cushy spot among the leaders in Gartner’s February Magic Quadrant. ThoughtSpot’s positioning represents the first time in six years that Gartner included a new leader in that report.

ThoughtSpot also closed on a funding round worth $145 million last May, marking the fifth time it has secured venture capital since its founding in 2012. The company followed up on the investment with a new version of its flagship offering that features a voice-driven analytics interface called SearchIQ shortly after. Solutions Review named ThoughtSpot one of 8 Analytics and Business Intelligence Vendors to Watch in 2019 last December.

Periscope Data and Reltio are the up-and-comers

Like ThoughtSpot above, Periscope Data is also taking advantage of the augmented analytics revolution, and a provider that’s earned watch list status from Solutions Review. Periscope’s Spring 2018 product update featured new visual data discovery capabilities and allows business users direct access to curated data sets. The company also unveiled a new Data Engine that will help data teams to achieve faster query performance and data ingestion.

Reltio allows organizations to manage data by utilizing continuous data organization and recommended actions. The vendor’s Self-Learning Data Platform organizes data from a wide variety of sources and formats to create a unified data set with personalized views for users across business departments. The company was included in Deloitte’s November Technology Fast 500, coming in at number-294, and a May 2018 funding round brings the company’s total raised to $117 million since its founding in 2011.

This isn’t Domo’s first rodeo

This definitely isn’t the first time Domo has been mentioned among the cloud BI elite. In fact, its main and most popular solution is its Business Cloud, offering a flexible number of data connection options regardless of whether the user is technical or not. The Domo platform is highly customizable, and its Analyzer feature can be tailored to filter out unnecessary information.

Domo went public last June after raising a whopping $700 million in venture capital since its founding in 2010. The provider released Domo Publish shortly after, a tool that enables its customers to share data outside a firewall. The company has also begun to invest in the booming data science software space as signified by its December Data Scence Suite release. The product provides both basic and advanced data science capabilities directly into the Domo platform.
