Alteryx has announced<\/a> the release of an update to its self-service data analytics platform. The new version (2018.2) is highlighted by improvements to the analytic experience for IT, business analysts and data scientists. The company broke the news this morning at Inspire 2018<\/a>, its annual user conference. Alteryx also announced the opening of its beta program, which will include several new features showcased during the company’s keynote.<\/p>\n

The new capabilities enable IT to scale the platform globally so multiple business units can benefit from the pipeline of insights and analytic models. The update also includes an increased number of data sources that can be used to develop repeatable workflows in Alteryx Designer, as well as a new Python SDK. The solution was designed specifically to support customers’ entire collection of data workers, offering both code-free and code friendly environments.<\/p>\n

Alteryx’s new metadata loaders for Microsoft Azure, Snowflake, MySQL and Qlik allow users to find and connect to data. The platform also supports Generic ODBC in-database, MySQL InDB, and Snowflake Bulk on-prem or in the cloud. Alteryx assists new users in introductory, guided sessions and provides access to the entire Alteryx community knowledge base via community search. Collaboration is a major component of the new release as well, with added SAML support for Server and Connect, enterprise-wide single sign-on, and extended language support.<\/p>\n

In a statement to Solutions Review, the company’s VP of Product Management Ashley Kramer said: “Self-service analytics is a global phenomenon. Companies all around the world are taking advantage of analytics to make smarter business decisions, but the abundance of data and the variety of people accessing that data can make it difficult to scale efforts effectively. This release encourages global collaboration at scale\u2014we\u2019re breaking data barriers and language barriers. Analysts in Japan, for example, can now utilize the same workflows as their counterparts in the U.S. to get to the right answers faster.”<\/p>\n
