Sisense announced today<\/a> that is has closed on a new round of venture capital worth $80 million. The funding brings the company’s total to nearly $200 million since its founding in 2010, and comes on the heels of the company’s D round in January of 2016. The injection was led by Insight Venture Partners, but also included participation from existing investors.<\/p>\n

Sisense’s business intelligence software makes it easy for organizations to reveal business insight from complex data in any size, and from any source. Sisense allows users to combine data and uncover insights in a single interface without scripting, coding or assistance from IT. Their BI and analytics platform is sold as a single-stack solution with a back-end for preparing and modeling data. It also features robust analytical capabilities, and a front end for dashboarding and visualization.<\/p>\n

Sisense offers a single platform that runs on in-chip technology for visual data discovery on web-based dashboards. Due to unique technology and an emphasis on end-user experience, Sisense is most appropriate for organizations that want to analyze large amounts of data from multiple sources. The company\u2019s OEM partner network is strong, and users report high praise for customer experience. The ability for organizations to white label Sisense and use APIs to extend analytic content are also major value-adds.<\/p>\n

In a statement to Solutions Review, the company’s CEO Amir Orad said: “The goal of this raise is to provide Insights Everywhere to empower everyone – that’s our mission and our journey as a company. Insights Everywhere is about making data-driven insights intuitive, accessible, and impactful for business users, including those with no technical background. We do that by automating the entire journey from raw data sources to consumable insights. Before Sisense, this journey usually took months using a team of super smart tech people. Now, it takes only days using normal human beings.”<\/p>\n

Solutions Review recently had the chance to sit down with the company’s\u00a0CEO Amir Orad<\/a> in our Boston studio\u00a0to discuss why a single-stack approach to BI and analytics is growing in popularity among data-driven companies.\u00a0The former cyber security executive and entrepreneur also gave us a glimpse into the future of Sisense and how he sees the marketplace playing out in the long-term.<\/p>\n
