Amazon Web Services recently announced the launch<\/a> of Amazon QuickSight Q, a new feature inside the QuickSight platform that enables the use of natural language query. The new capability gives anyone in an organization the ability to ask business questions and receive accurate answers with relevant visualizations. Amazon QuickSight Q does not depend on prebuilt dashboards or reports to deliver visualizations. Customers can also refine the way it understands questions via the included an editor. Amazon QuickSight Q currently supports questions in English and is generally available.<\/p>\n

Amazon QuickSight is a serverless and embeddable business intelligence service for the cloud featuring built-in machine learning. The product lets you create and publish interactive BI dashboards that can be queried using natural language. It can automatically scale to thousands of users without any infrastructure. QuickSight also touts pay-per-session pricing so customers only pay when users access dashboards or reports. Dashboards can be accessed from any device.<\/p>\n

Amazon QuickSight Q provides auto-complete suggestions for key phrases and business terms and automatically performs spell checking and acronym\/synonym matching. There are no upfront commitments to use the service, and customers only pay for the number of users or queries.<\/p>\n

In a media statement on the news, AWS VP of Business Analytics Matt Wood said: “Customers love that Amazon QuickSight makes it easy for them to perform advanced analytics without prior data science experience, and they\u2019re using it in ways that are surprising and delightful. Now, with\u00a0Amazon\u00a0QuickSight Q, anyone within an organization has the ability to ask natural language questions and receive highly relevant answers and visualizations. For the first time, anyone can tap into the full power of data to make quick, reliable, data-driven decisions to plan more efficiently and be more responsive to their end users.\u201d<\/p>\n
