Yellowfin recently announced the release of Yellowfin 9.3, the latest version of the company’s flagship business intelligence and data analytics platform. Yellowfin’s integrated platform now touts new features that enable users to combine analytics capabilities to get the desired experience. Yellowfin 9.3 builds off of the solution provider’s version 9.2 release from June, which saw the platform receive developer tools for embedded BI with minimal coding and fully extensible components.

Yellowfin is an Australia-based BI and analytics company that specializes in dashboards and data visualization. The product features a machine learning algorithm called Assisted Insights that provides automatic answers in the form of easy-to-understand best practice visualizations and narratives. Yellowfin comes pre-built with a variety of dashboards, and users can embed interactive reports into third-party platforms, such as a web page, wiki, or company intranet. Released in November 2019, Yellowfin 9 debuted an advanced secure presentation tool called Yellowfin Present and add-ons for the company’s companion mobile application.

Yellowfin 9.3’s JavaScript API now includes support for Assisted Insights, Drill Throughs, and Exports. This provides product teams with better access to automated analysis and new data interactions on embedded content. Developers can also use the JavaScript API to toggle every dashboard interaction and assemble analytics experiences for the consumer. The REST API has been enhanced with more administrative endpoints for automated processes around the user, tenant and data source management as well.

Dashboards and presentations are gaining refreshed Text and Image Widgets. In addition, there is also a brand new Image Manager that lets designers and builders create design-led analytic content in a simpler way.

In a media statement on the release, Yellowfin CTO Brad Scarff said: “We strengthened our dashboard building capability further – providing simple yet powerful design capabilities to assist designers in building visually stunning analytic content. We are offering an even broader range of API capabilities to empower software companies and enterprises alike to build truly contextualized embedded analytics experiences – including the ability to seamlessly incorporate automated insights and data storytelling into the embedded experience.”
