The chief executive officer (CEO) is at the top of the food chain within an organization. The CEO undertakes many responsibilities, such as developing a strategy and direction and setting the precedent for their business\u2019 principles, conduct, and culture. The chief executive is also responsible for building an executive leadership team and allocating funds to match the company\u2019s goals and priorities. Some CEOs have even more on their plate, whether they are at the head of the top business process management companies or an emerging startup. Sometimes they can be responsible for more than just the traditional duties and can do anything from brewing coffee to marketing their product.<\/span><\/p>\n

Solutions Review has compiled this list of the five coolest BPM CEOs based on a number of factors, including the company\u2019s market share, growth trajectory, and the impact each individual has had on its presence in what is becoming the most competitive global software market. Some of the top BPM CEOs have been with their respective companies since day one while others are serial entrepreneurs. But no matter their background, each CEO brings a diversity of skills and a unique perspective to the table that allows their company to thrive.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jakob Freund, Camunda<\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n

\"Jakob<\/a>Jakob Freund, the Co-Founder and CEO of Camunda,<\/a> is the driving force behind Camunda’s global growth, as well as the company’s culture. Freund has 13 years of experience at Camunda, co-wrote the book, Real-Life BPMN\u00a0<\/em>and holds an MSc in Computer Science. Prior to his time at Camunda, Freund was a solution architect at inubut AG and a consultant at Hypoport AG. Freund is also responsible for the vision and strategy at Camunda. In March 2021, the company raised $98 million<\/strong><\/span><\/a> in Series B funding.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kostereva is also an official member of the Forbes Technology Council and has been since 2017. Before her time at Creatio, she was CEO and Managing Partner at Terrasoft. She was also named to The Software Report’s “Top 50 SaaS CEOs of 2019” listing, as well as a “Top Woman in Cloud” by CloudNow in 2019. Creatio also raised $68 million<\/strong><\/span><\/a> from Horizon Capital and Volition Capital in February 2021.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Eric Johnson, Nintex<\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n

\"Eric<\/a>Eric Johnson, the CEO of Nintex,<\/a> brings more than 20 years of financial and operational experience at mid- and large-sized software enterprises. Previously, Johnson served as Nintex’s Chief Financial Officer from 2014-2018. Prior to Johnson’s time at Nintex, he was the Vice President of Finance at Jive Software and the Vice President of WW Sales Operations at Serena Software. Under Johnson’s leadership, Nintex has acquired multiple companies to expand its portfolio. In 2020 the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>vendor completed its acquisition of K2 Software,<\/strong><\/span><\/a> and more recently, Nintex acquired the e-signature company, AssureSign.<\/a><\/strong><\/span> This is the provider’s fourth acquisition in the past three years.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Gero Decker, Signavio<\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n

\"Gero<\/a>As co-founder and CEO, Gero Decker is responsible for Signavio\u2019s<\/a> overall strategic direction. He is a business process management expert and passionate about product innovation. Before co-founding Signavio, he worked for SAP and McKinsey, both as an intern. At SAP, Gero was responsible for working on process modeling and was involved in a joint project with the Queensland University of Technology that contributed to the BPMN 2.0 standard. At McKinsey, he was in charge of optimizing the order-to-provisioning process of a large telecommunications provider in Germany. Gero holds a Ph.D. in Business Process Management from Hasso-Plattner-Institute. Recently, SAP acquired Signavio<\/strong><\/span><\/a> for an undisclosed amount.<\/p>\n
