AWS re:Invent 2018 was packed with news from AWS and many of the event’s sponsoring vendors. A specific area of interest surrounded the new AWS Security Hub.

Every enterprise needs multiple solutions to ensure security. Unfortunately, this leads to jumping in and out of software to run tests or catch alerts. With Security Hub, users gain a single platform that organizes and prioritizes security alerts or findings. It works with AWS security services, as well as partner solutions.

The current AWS Security Hub solution partnerships include: Alert Logic, Armor, Barracuda, Check Point, CrowdStrike, CyberArk, Demisto, Dome9, F5 Networks, Fortinet, GuardiCore, IBM Security, McAfee, Palo Alto Networks, Qualys, Rapid7, Sophos, Splunk, Sumo Logic, Symantec, Tenable, Trend Micro, Turbot, and Twistlock.

Chris Noell, Senior VP of Engineering at Alert Logic, stated:

“AWS Security Hub is designed to help AWS customers quickly aggregate, categorize and prioritize the findings of AWS-native security tools that run natively on AWS. “We are excited to work with AWS to support AWS Security Hub. AWS Security Hub enhances our existing capabilities to assist customers with their considerations regarding web application securitynetwork vulnerability scanninglog correlation and reporting on AWS.”

Haiyan Song, senior vice president and general manager of security markets at Splunk, said:

“As organizations continue to migrate to the cloud, data is dispersed across various teams that need to ensure that they are monitoring and analyzing it in order to detect potential threats and respond to them quickly. Splunk’s support for AWS Security Hub allows our customers to take an analytics-driven approach to security, and to scale their security operations through automation and orchestration capabilities.”

John Leon, VP of Business Development and Alliances at Twistlock, said:

“While there’s no question that cloud native is the way forward for enterprise application architecture, efforts continue to be made to make the cloud even more secure. Twistlock is working on creating additional layers of security by giving customers the control and insights they need to deliver trust and reliability to end users, and meet HIPAA and PCI compliance requirements. With this integration with AWS Security Hub we’re continuing to make it easier for customers to see all of our advanced security and compliance intelligence in whatever interfaces and tools they prefer.”
