Cloud providers deliver the tools that make this possible, including new services all the time that address different new use cases and industries.

Regional Cloud Ecosystems

As cloud solutions can be accessed from anywhere, it’s important for cloud providers to implement the right regulations for each region they plan to serve. Now that the cloud is beginning to really take hold of businesses everywhere, it falls on cloud providers to ensure that they pay attention to local regulations when setting up servers for new areas. Increasing government regulations across the globe are driving vendors to fit their cloud solutions for each new region they serve.

Sustainability and “Carbon-Intelligent” Cloud

Climate change remains a widely-discussed topic in the tech industry, and the cloud’s effect on the environment is certainly a concern for providers. It has thus fallen on cloud vendors to tailor their efforts towards reducing the impact their solutions have on the environment, including more aggressive goals for carbon neutrality and sustainability. Addressing these concerns has created many new challenges for cloud industry leaders, forcing them to reevaluate their future public cloud development plans.

CIPS Providers’ Automated Programmable Infrastructure

Cloud infrastructure and platform services (CIPS) providers are looking towards artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions to help reduce operational burdens for their staff. As Gartner’s Senior Research Director Henrique Cessi puts it: “Modern IT infrastructure, whether deployed in the data center or consumed in the public cloud, requires less manual intervention and routine administration than its legacy equivalents.”
