IBM’s Latest Public Cloud Updates Target Enterprise Developers

IBM Platform as a Service BlueMix

IBM Platform as a Service BlueMixIBM is aiming directly at developers with their new enhancements to their public cloud. Developers are one of the key focuses of their top competitors including Amazon Web Service.

The main point of this update is to allow organizations to isolate their projects from the workloads of other customers.

Bluemix, IBM’s cloud platform, provides an environment for developers instead of focusing on high-profile alliances and marketing. This update gives developers the freedom to collect resources as needed even while handling workloads that are usually kept within an organization.

In order to reduce the amount of work required to establish a secure connection with the systems on premise, Bluemix has substantial offering of interfaces. The main benefit of this collection is that it give the developers a break from having to lay the foundation. This also eliminates organizations from having to keep important data in the cloud.

Applications can now use the interface to request information from the back-end infrastructure making it much more secure.

The new Bluemix also comes with a few other services like the hosted document store Big Blue, the data integration technology they gained a few months back from Aspera and cognitive computing and social media analytics capabilities.

Big Blue, which was obtained by IBM earlier this year, has collaborated with Bluemix to complete a new catalog of services that will help jump-start the road to DevOps practices that can help encourage cooperation between software engineers and operations professionals.
