Accenture Acquires Cloud-Native and Development Company Wolox

Accenture is acquiring cloud-native and agile development company Wolox to enhance the global capabilities of Accenture Cloud First. This move follows a $3 billion investment from the company into Cloud First, which will be deployed over the next three years. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Accenture Cloud First’s Global Lead Karthik Narain said: “The acquisition of Wolox brings differentiated skills to Accenture, as the team uniquely blends cloud-native development with design and state-of-the-art technologies for business transformation. Wolox has multidisciplinary teams of industry and business experts, UX/UI designers, software designers, architects, and engineers, and together, we’re now more equipped to help clients tap into the technology expertise and human ingenuity that powers how Accenture innovates.”


Mission Launches Dedicated Data, Analytics & Machine Learning Practice

Mission is launching a dedicated Data, Analytics, & Machine Learning practice for Amazon Web Services, according to a press release on the company’s website. The new practice provides data engineering, analytics, machine learning, and data science expertise and tools to customers. This branch is led by Dr. Ryan Ries, who has 15 years of experience leading data science and engineering initiatives.

Mission’s VP of Consulting Services Jaret Chiles stated: “Organizations have a huge opportunity to let their data affect change. Regardless of company size, regardless of industry – connecting disparate data sources and deriving insight from that data continues to be a monumental challenge for businesses that don’t have the requisite (and expensive) expertise in-house. VMware vRealize Automation 8.4 Improves Multi-Cloud Management

VMware is releasing vRealize Automation 8.4 for improved multi-cloud management, according to a press release on the company’s website. The updates bring new and enhanced capabilities to support modern self-service multi-cloud infrastructures. VMware is also introducing tighter integration with open-source innovations and advanced multi-cloud provisioning and governance across Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and VMware Cloud.

VMware’s senior vice president and general manager, Cloud Management, Purnima Padmanabhan stated: “Enterprises are adopting a multi-cloud approach for choice and flexibility but face the challenge of deploying, managing, and better securing their apps across clouds. Cloudreach is launching Smart Migration, a new service that provides simple automated cloud migration to its customers and clients. The service provides enterprise cloud transformation through data-driven automation to make migration easier and more cost-efficient. This helps create confidence in the migration process for enterprises to accelerate the modernization journey.

Deloitte is acquiring CloudQuest, Inc. for boosting cloud cybersecurity offerings, according to a press release on the company’s website. The company will acquire “substantially all the assets” of CloudQuest to add the vendor’s cloud-native cybersecurity offerings with Deloitte’s existing cybersecurity solutions. The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

IBM Closes Acquisition of Turbonomic for Hybrid Cloud AIOps

IBM has closed its acquisition of application performance management and network performance management vendor Turbonomic, according to a press release on the company’s website. This complements IBM’s recent acquisition of Instana for application performance monitoring (APM) and observability to build an AIOps solution for the hybrid cloud. The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

IBM Automation’s General Manager Dinesh Nirmal stated: “We believe that the move to AI-powered automation is essential to helping businesses succeed in a digital-first world. IBM is already helping thousands of customers use automation to make IT and business processes more efficient and employees more effective. Now that Turbonomic is a part of our portfolio, IBM is the only company providing a one-stop shop of AI-powered automation capabilities, all built on Red Hat OpenShift to run anywhere.”
