\"Top<\/a>As we enter 2015 we expect to see a lot of changes in enterprise technology, but one technology that is expected to flourish a bit more than the others is Cloud Applications. \u00a0As time goes on, it will make sense for most companies to move at least part of their infrastructure to some form of cloud computing, just for the ease of it.<\/p>\n

According to an article written by Stein Gran for exploreB2B.com,<\/a> here are the five main reasons to for enterprises to move to the cloud.<\/p>\n

  1. Inseparability\u00a0between cloud applications<\/strong>– One of their best things that cloud applications have to offer is their ability to integrate with other applications. That way instead of having two calendars with different events on each one, with cloud applications, these can all be consolidated into one making it much easier for you to handle all the things going on. Because customers expect this kind of usability, cloud applications are highly customizable; the ones that aren\u2019t get dumped almost immediately. Since the cloud applications industry is so competitive, there will always be a cloud application out there to meet your specific needs; if the first one you try is unsatisfactory, there is always another one out there.<\/li>\n
  2. Always-available services<\/strong>– Employees can literally work from anywhere. All they need is an internet connection. This allows for an increased flexibility in the average employee\u2019s workday and can give some the opportunity to telecommute if not all the time, then at least for part of the week.<\/li>\n
  3. Security<\/strong>– Data is stored in a central, safe place and not scattered around. This makes it much easier to protect from people who would come in and physically steal information from your company. Also, if an employee were to lose their laptop or work device, all of the data wouldn\u2019t be lost, because it wouldn\u2019t be stored on the device. Data is not stored locally so the only loss the employee and your company suffer is just the device itself.<\/li>\n
  4. Scale on demand<\/strong>– With moving to the\u00a0cloud, there is no limitations on scalability. If your company website is hosted on a server or servers and all of the sudden your traffic spikes, and your servers can\u2019t handle it, then you need to either upgrade the server or buy another one which can take time. In the cloud, you won\u2019t run into that problem. If you see increased traffic or predict that it might increase, you can just buy more space on the cloud as needed. This means that if you experience a heavy load during the day and not at night, you can pay for the space during the day, and at night it will scale back down as traffic decreases.<\/li>\n
  5. Always updated software<\/strong>– You will no longer have to take your server offline in order to update it. On top of that, it won\u2019t even be your responsibility to update the software at all; that duty lies with the software maker so you can spend your time doing other things.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    With benefits like these, it\u2019s hard to find a reason not to go with cloud applications for the future. For employees, IT professionals and CIO\u2019s, the benefits are astounding. Even with the slight drawbacks of cloud, the benefits severely outweigh them.<\/p>\n
