AWS, the public cloud business of online retail giant Amazon.com, announced 722 new services and features in 2015.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">AWS brought in $2.4 billion in sales for Q4 2015, a 69 percent year-over-year increase.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">That growth rate is lower than Q3 2015\u00a0when AWS posted a 78 percent increase in growth, but AWS revenues have never been higher.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The public cloud business brought in $687 million in operating income during the fourth quarter, up from $240 million in Q4 2014. Operating expenditures for Q4 2015 were $1.718 billion, compared to $1.18 billion in Q4 2014.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">AWS has been a well-known leader in the public cloud market for some time and many high-profile customers \u2014 Spotify and Netflix, for example \u2014 use its infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In their 2015 Magic Quadrant report for infrastructure as a service (IaaS), market research and analyst house estimated that AWS has five times more compute capacity of all 14 other cloud infrastructure vendors listed in the report combined.
