Syncsort is set to acquire Pitney Bowes’ Software Solutions business, according to a press release on the company’s website. The merger will enable Syncsort to offer differentiated capabilities to enterprise organizations. Its the largest acquisition Syncsort has made to date, and comes on the heels of its SQData buy from earlier in August. Pitney Bowes is best known for its location intelligence, data enrichment, customer information management and customer engagement solutions.

Syncsort offers its data integration capabilities via two product families, Syncsort Connect and Syncsort Ironstream. The company’s flagship application data integration tools are the Syncsort Connect product family. Syncsort allows users to hasten database queries and applications by putting relational databases to best use. The Intelligent Execution feature dynamically selects the most efficient algorithms based on the data structures and system attributes it encounters at run-time.

The deal, which should close by the end of this year, will help Syncsort extend its product portfolio, most notably for its Trillium line of data quality solutions. Pitney Bowes was most recently named a challenger in Gartner’s 2019 Magic Quadrant for Data Quality Tools. The provider scored well for its matching and core data quality features.

In a media statement, Syncsort’s CEO Josh Rogers added: “Together, we will be one of the leading players in the data management software space and positioned to drive even greater value for customers and partners alike, especially in areas like regulatory compliance, security, data science and hybrid cloud. Leading enterprises are facing significant challenges around the quality of their data, and we will offer unparalleled capabilities for customers to easily integrate, enrich, improve and gain insight from their data.”

Syncsort released a new change data capture solution called Connect CDC in May.
