Talend Acquired by Thoma Bravo in $2.4 Billion-Dollar Deal

Talend is set to be acquired by private equity firm Thoma Bravo for $2.4 billion, according to a press release on the company’s website. Upon completion of the transaction, Talend will become a private company. The deal will enable Talend to continue investing in its cloud transition and enhance its data integration offerings for customers. The news comes on the heels of Talend’s September unveiling of Talend Trust Score, a tool that instantly assesses the reliability of an organization’s data.

Talend offers an expansive portfolio of data integration and data management tools. The company’s flagship tool, Open Studio for Data Integration, is available via a free open-source license. Talend Integration Cloud is offered in three separate editions (SaaS, hybrid, elastic), and provides broad connectivity, built-in data quality, and native code generation to support big data technologies. Big data components and connectors include Hadoop, NoSQL, MapReduce, Spark, machine learning, and IoT.

In a media statement about the news, Talend CEO Christal Bemont said “I am pleased with how the team has executed through the challenges of 2020 and successfully delivered on the strategic initiatives and targets we laid out a year ago. As we look forward, the transaction with Thoma Bravo – a firm with a successful track record of helping the companies it acquires achieve long-term, sustainable growth – will provide Talend with additional capital, resources, and expertise to execute against our mission and leverage a large market opportunity to help all organizations become data-driven.”
