Talend recently announced the release of Talend Cloud Summer 2018. The new version of Talend Cloud also further streamlines the benefits of serverless architectures. An added “hash data” function provides more data privacy and encryption, and users have more access control of semantic data in Talend’s dictionary service. In addition to mass import, export and remove capabilities for data curation, the tool also provide greater compliance with enterprise cloud security and audit policies.

Talend now allows users to filter data in the source module to reduce the amount of data being extracted and processed. This can help to improve governance and can be utilized for the self-service and data cleansing and preparation use cases. Built-in identity and access management improvements, including single sign-on (SSI) for Okta and other identity management vendors are also key tenets of the update.

In a statement to the media, the company’s SVP of Product Ciaran Dynes said: “Talend Cloud customers are already experiencing the benefits of serverless architectures. Customer results include a 2/3 reduction in cloud computing costs, 50% improvement in performance, and the long-term benefits of greater agility. The new enterprise-class cloud features in this release demonstrate how we continue to keep our customers on the cutting edge of innovation.”
