Talend Unveils Entry-Level Metadata Manager Solution, Big Data Training Courses

Talend recently announced the launch of a new metadata management solution that provides organizations easier accessibility to data lakes and other big data projects. Talend Metadata Manager offers a governance framework for creating, controlling, attributing, defining, and managing enterprise data so users can extract and propagate additional value.

The solution helps collect information from databases, modern BI and analytic tools, big data, cloud platforms, or any data pipelines managed by the Talend Data Fabric integration platform. It then combines them into a single view of an entire information supply chain. Metadata Manager contains a proprietary business glossary to link technical definitions to corresponding business definitions and vocabulary commonly used by business users to enable self-service search, categorization, and access to information.

The tool is incorporated into the Data Fabric integration platform, and provides metadata history across all applications and universal connectivity to legacy data integration tools or any BI and data warehousing platform. It also includes data version control, and configuration and management capabilities.

Talend Metadata Manager is an entry-level product designed to provide organizations with an effective way to oversee and augment data use, access, and compliance without implementing a full-fledged governance policy.

The vendor also announced new courses to help advance developers’ skills with modern cloud and big data technologies. The courses, which are based on practical exercises, aim to maximize user expertise with tools for data mapping and data preparation in the cloud.
