Multinational semiconductor company Arm recently announced<\/a> that it has acquired Treasure Data. Financial details of the merger were not disclosed, but technologies from the acquisition will be combined to form Arm’s new IoT connectivity, device, and data management platform. The new Arm Pelion Platform will enable organizations to learn from IoT, enterprise, and third-party data.\u00a0Though Arm is rolling Treasure Data’s technology into its Pelion IoT Platform, Treasure Data will remain available as a standalone product for new and existing customers.<\/p>\n

Best known for its Customer Data Platform, Treasure Data provides a data hub with two-way communication and a single view of stored data.\u00a0It features more than 100 plug-and-play connectors for continuous integration (both streaming and bulk) from all an organization\u2019s data sources. The product also enables unification of data from varying and disparate sources, reducing the need for dedicated data preparation tools.<\/p>\n

In a statement, Arm’s President of IoT Services spoke to the merger, adding: “The Pelion IoT Platform delivers a strong combined partner ecosystem of 140+ partners spanning silicon, mobile, network operators (MNOs), channel, technology providers and more. It incorporates much of the technology that propelled Treasure Data\u2019s cloud-based Enterprise Customer Data Platform (CDP) into the market-leading position it enjoys today. Treasure Data provides the unique ability to handle massive amount of streaming web, mobile, and IoT data.”<\/p>\n

Treasure Data’s star has certainly been on the rise in recent months, coming to a head when the provider accumulated one of the top scores in Gartner’s 2018 Data Management Solutions for Analytics Voice of the Customer<\/em><\/a>.\u00a0 Solutions Review also named the company a\u00a0Vendor to Watch<\/em><\/a>\u00a0in the broader data management space back in January.<\/p>\n
