Cloudera recently announced<\/a> the availability of Cloudera Enterprise 6.0, a platform for cloud-based machine learning and analytics. The company also unveiled innovations for Cloudera Altus that unify control and governance of long-running and transient workloads on public clouds and data centers. The new enhancements provide cloud deployment choice to hasten the expansion of data warehousing and machine learning applications.\u00a0This announcement comes on the heels of Cloudera’s Cloudera Data Warehouse reveal<\/a> late last month.<\/p>\n

Cloudera Enterprise 6 features innovations in search, streaming, scale, and control. The solution curates, integrates, and tests the platform against real use cases to ensure it meets enterprise standards. Version 6 runs on-prem or in the cloud, and provides performance improvements for SQL, real-time, and streaming workloads. It also adds full-text search capabilities for data warehousing.<\/p>\n

In a statement to the press, the company’s Chief Executive Tom Reilly said: “With Cloudera Enterprise 6.0, our customers can unlock value from their data faster across their data centers and the public cloud. Our modern machine learning and analytics platform – hybrid by design – lets you build and deploy AI solutions at scale, efficiently and securely, anywhere you want.”<\/p>\n

Cloudera offers a data storage and processing platform based on the Apache Hadoop ecosystem, as well as a proprietary system and data management tools for design, deployment, operations and production management.\u00a0Cloudera differentiates itself from other Hadoop distribution vendors by continuing to invest in specific capabilities, such as improvements to Cloudera Navigator (which provides metadata management, lineage and auditing), while at the same time keeping up with the Hadoop open-source project.<\/p>\n
