erwin recently announced an update<\/a> to erwin Data Intelligence (erwin DI), the company’s flagship data management and governance platform. The release is highlighted by enhancements to the user interface, as well as new artificial intelligence and self-service data discovery features. erwin Data Intelligence, according to the vendor now “makes it easier for organizations to tailor the solution to meet the unique needs of their data governance frameworks, identify and socialize the most valuable data assets, and expand metadata scanning and sensitive data tracking.”<\/p>\n

erwin offers a unified software platform for combining data governance, enterprise architecture, business process, and data modeling. The product is delivered as a managed service that allows users to discover and harvest data, as well as structure and deploy data sources by connecting physical metadata to specific business terms and definitions. erwin imports metadata from data integration tools, as well as cloud-based platforms, and can evaluate complex lineages across systems and use cases.<\/p>\n

The update touts new role-based and governance assignment capabilities which make it easier for organizations to tailor the solution. The user interface is getting new workflows and search to speed navigation, asset discovery, and contextual understanding. AI add-ons let users enrich metadata scanning to speed up the handling of sensitive data for automated GDPR and CCPA compliance. There are also improved socialization and collaboration features as well.<\/p>\n
