The awarded patent\u00a0covers the key technology underpinning components of the MapR Converged Data Platform including multi-model NoSQL database and global streaming engine.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">MapR enables organizations to create disruptive advantage and long-term value from their data with the industry\u2019s only Converged Data Platform, which delivers distributed processing, real-time analytics, and enterprise-grade requirements across cloud and on-premise environments\u2013while leveraging the ongoing development in open source technologies including Spark and Hadoop.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The patent claims include protection for file, table and stream processing for the following technology advances:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Convergence:<\/strong> Fundamental integration of tables, files and streams into converged data platform<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Fast processing with low latency:<\/strong> Ability to open tables without having to replay a log<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>High availability and strong consistency:<\/strong> Provides continuous access and fast recovery while ensuring strong consistency<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Security:<\/strong> Keeps secure snapshots and mirrors of all kinds of persistent data such as files, tables and streams<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">MapR&#8217;s CEO Matt Mills speaks to the news: &#8220;Strengthening our growing IP portfolio, this patent reinforces\u00a0our commitment to allowing our customers to uniquely\u00a0run both operational and analytical processing on a single platform.\u00a0Unlike Apache Hadoop or alternative big data technologies, the patented Converged Data Platform provides a unified and fast access layer to any type of data. We enable\u00a0companies to take advantage of next generation applications, creating\u00a0innovation and advancing their business through digital transformation.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In August, MapR <a href=\"https:\/\/solutionsreview.com\/data-management\/mapr-snags-50m-funding-on-heels-of-record-quarter\/\" target=\"_blank\">raised $50 million<\/a> in private equity funding on the heels of a record year for the Data Management solution provider,\u00a0with more than a 100 percent increase in bookings over the previous year.
