Hitachi Vantara Updates its Hyperconverged Infrastructure PortfolioHitachi Vantara recently announced new enhancements and capabilities to its hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) portfolio. Updates have been made to Hitachi Unified Compute Platform (UCP) HC and Hitachi UCP RS. These new enhancements provide added benefits to customers, such as faster provisioning, certified support for SAP HANA workloads, new Intel Cascade Lake Xenon Refresh processors, and enhanced lifecycle management capabilities that deliver non-disruptive upgrades.

Hitachi Vantara assists enterprises with storing, enriching, activating, and monetizing their data. The provider offers four solutions under the umbrella of object storage, namely, Hitachi Content Platform (HCP), HCP Anywhere, Hitachi Data Ingestor (HDI), and Hitachi Content Intelligence. Each provides object storage, file synchronization, sharing, end-user data protection; a cloud file gateway; and search and analytic insights. The vendor is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd., and also offers backup and disaster recovery solutions.

Hitachi Vantara’s hyperconverged infrastructure portfolio is updated with enhanced day 0-2 management capabilities, including upgraded lifecycle management that enables non-disruptive upgrades to the full HCI stack, including IP and SAN network switches. The new updates provide key benefits, such as:

  • Unified Cloud Management: Customers can build a cloud infrastructure with workload and data mobility across on-prem and public cloud environments.
  • Scalable Performance: The updated HCI platforms offer certified support for SAP HANA workloads on HCI. Intel Cascade Lake Refresh Xeon processors increase performance for workload consolidation while avoiding resource contention issues.
  • Simplified Consumption: EverFlex from Hitachi Vantara offers elastic and comprehensive acquisition choices for the entire Hitachi Vantara portfolio, including the UCP Family, with consumption-based pricing models that align IT spend with business use.
