This is the first native cloud service that enables businesses to move file data from any Qumulo on-prem or public cloud cluster into Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) and transform that data to object in an open and non-proprietary format. With Shift, Qumulo file customers can leverage the full ecosystem of cloud-native applications and services attached to Amazon S3. Qumulo Shift for AWS S3 is included for free with the Qumulo file system.<\/span><\/p>\n

Qumulo <\/span>is an enterprise data storage startup whose solutions are available on Qumulo storage servers, on hardware from companies such as Dell and HPE, and natively on AWS in the public cloud.\u00a0 The provider was formed by professionals from Isilon Systems, Adobe, and Wily Technology. The vendor offers Qumulo File Fabric (QF2), a scale-out NAS tool that runs on-prem and in the public cloud, as well as preintegrated Qumulo Core appliances. Qumulo\u2019s software is available on the AWS Marketplace, third-party hardware, and standard hardware that the company sells direct to consumers.<\/span><\/p>\n

With Qumulo Shift for AWS S3, enterprise organizations can now take full advantage of their growing file data and create faster business outcomes leveraging the cloud. Additionally, users can migrate and store data from thousands of sources to Amazon S3, making it easier for that data to natively interact with AWS services like Amazon Sagemaker and AWS IoT Greengrass, among others.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a press statement, Ben Gitenstein, vice president of products and solutions at Qumulo said, \u201cobject stores and data lakes are good at storing large quantities of unstructured file data at rest, but customers need the ability to process massive file data across applications and cloud services to accelerate tangible business results. Qumulo Shift for AWS S3 enables high-performance file data solutions to be used while also providing the ability to move data to S3 for sharing, integration to other services, and cost optimization. Most importantly for customers, Qumulo does not hold their data \u2018hostage\u2019 with proprietary data formats. When customers use Qumulo Shift for AWS S3, the data in S3 is stored as natively accessible objects and buckets.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
