The CISO’s AI Priority List: What Changes and What Doesn’t
Grant Yacomeni, Chief Information Security Officer at Gigamon, has offered some insights on how a CISO’s priority list should (and shouldn’t) change. He says, “Most organizations are establishing rules around approved AI tools, the data those tools can access, and how employees can use them. Those policies are important, but policy alone is not governance.”
What a Cybersecurity Market Map Should Tell You, and What It Can’t
“A cybersecurity market map can turn a crowded vendor landscape into something buyers can navigate. Instead of sorting through overlapping product categories, technical acronyms, and competing claims, security leaders get a consolidated view of the market: who participates, how providers are grouped, and where to begin an evaluation. That perspective is useful. It is also incomplete.”
Endpoint Security and Network Monitoring News for the Week of October 23rd
Action1 Announces the Endpoint Takeover Prevention Solution
Action1, a provider of autonomous endpoint management (AEM) solutions, has announced Endpoint Takeover Prevention (ETP), a new security architecture designed to prevent threat actors from using compromised endpoint management platforms to take control of customer endpoints. With ETP, companies can benefit from customer-controlled authorization, independent endpoint verifications, additional protection for high-risk endpoint actions, and more.
Assail Introduces a Proactive AI Agent for Its Ares Platform
Assail, a developer of sovereign AI-powered offensive security platforms, has announced Cassandra, a proactive AI agent that’s integrated into its Ares platform. The company is also expanding its threat modeling capabilities to help teams connect attack scenarios directly to their autonomous security testing and remediation verification processes. Alissa Knight, CEO of Assail, explains how “Cassandra helps teams decide what to test next. Ares tests it, shows what attackers can exploit, and checks whether the fixes work.”
Auvik Launches an Automation Framework and CVE Monitoring Agent
Auvik, an AI-driven IT management platform provider, has announced the general availability of the Auvik Automation Framework and the Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) Monitoring Agent. With the Auvik Automation Framework, IT teams can create and execute automated jobs across groups of network devices. Meanwhile, the new CVE Monitoring Agent will automatically identify which devices are affected by matching published CVEs against a customer’s devices using verified sources, including the National Vulnerability Database and vendor advisories.
CloudBolt Software Adds Agent Governance Capabilities to CloudBolt CMP
CloudBolt Software, a cloud and AI infrastructure company, has announced several agent governance capabilities for the CloudBolt CMP. These additions will enable admins to control agent access action by action, ensure enforcement happens upon execution, trace agent sessions, and allow every agent to act as a named user, with no shared service account holding broad credentials behind it. All of these capabilities and enhancements are available now to CloudBolt CMP customers.
Cobalt Joins the Wiz Integration Network
Cobalt, a provider of Pentesting as a Service (PTaaS) and continuous offensive security testing, has joined the Wiz Integration Network. The generally available integration automatically synchronizes findings, including exploitability context, reproduction steps, severity ratings, CVSS scores, and remediation guidance. It works by combining Cobalt’s human-led and AI-powered offensive testing with Wiz’s visibility into cloud vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and attack paths.
CrowdStrike Expands Agentic SOC to Address AI Insider Threats
CrowdStrike has announced new security operations capabilities designed to detect and contain AI agents that deviate from intended behavior, even without violating explicit policies. With the Agent Insider Threat Detection feature, teams can establish behavioral baselines for agents and their owners, then route anomalies into coordinated investigations across endpoint, identity, SaaS, cloud, and network environments. The announcement also introduces a Falcon Guardian AI Kill Switch to terminate agents.
Cycode Extends AI Development Security to Citizen Developers
Cycode, an Agentic Development Security company, has introduced Citizen Developer Security, a private-preview offering for employees building applications with AI agents outside traditional engineering workflows. The solution is built to discover AI builders, unmanaged codebases, coding agents, and Model Context Protocol servers, and then link them to devices, applications, and risks. This will help teams address malicious package installation, sensitive information in AI interactions, and vulnerabilities in generated code, dependencies, and cloud configurations.
