The Key Capabilities in Enterprise Email Security

Within the Forrester Wave Report, the researchers outline some of the key capabilities of modern email security solutions. Enterprises can benefit from understanding which capabilities receive the most attention and which influenced placement decisions.

Indeed, enterprises can’t afford to ignore their email security. As described by Forrester, email contributes to or directly facilitates critical business processes. However, this reliance also leaves it vulnerable to various species of cyber attack. Commonly, emails fall prey to credential phishing attempts, malware, spam, and business email compromise.

Therefore, Forrester ranks anti-phishing, malicious URL detection, and data loss prevention as the most significant email security capabilities.

Also, Forrester provides a deep analysis of why these capabilities matter to business-level cybersecurity. For example, malicious URL detection helps to prevent users from visiting malicious sites in the first place. It can detect a malicious URL in an email body or in an attachment and recognize compromised legitimate domains.

Given the success rates of phishing attacks, your enterprise can’t afford to ignore these capabilities. Even a single clicked malicious URL can compromise your entire enterprise.
