The Biggest Endpoint Security News Items During the First Half of 2021

The FatFace Hack – What You Need To Know (March)

British fashion retailer FatFace “disclosed” suffering a cyber-attack in January to its customers and employees. It appears that customers, current, and former employees may have been affected. Customers may have had their names, emails, physical addresses, and the last four digits of their credit cards compromised in the breach, according to an email sent by the company.

However, the company asked customers to “keep this email and the information included within it strictly private and confidential.” This prompted an immediate and serious backlash. Customers were deeply upset because the company took two months to inform customers. Additionally, U.K data protection laws demand companies disclose breaches within 72 hours of detection.

AT&T Cybersecurity Launches Managed Endpoint Security Solution

AT&T Cybersecurity announced the launch of a managed endpoint security solution. This solution stems from an alliance with SentinelOne. The AT&T Managed Endpoint Security with SentinelOne is designed to correlate the detection of endpoint threats through a single software agent.

Rupesh Chokshi, VP at AT&T Cybersecurity, gave a statement with the announcement. “More endpoints and data are crossing an increasingly complex network environment, causing the cyber-attack surface to grow and new threats to emerge. With our expertise in managed security, fiber, and 5G connectivity solutions, we are helping enterprises to reduce the risk of endpoint security attacks using AI to accelerate the detection of threats, enabling them to focus on their business innovation.”
