DarkBytes released their first products in 2018, which includes MDR and Security Orchestration Automation Response (SOAR) services; MDR detects and responds to digital intrusion and malware, enabling faster threat mitigation by security teams.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sophos.com\/en-us\/press-office\/press-releases\/2019\/01\/sophos-acquires-darkbytes-as-foundation-of-new-mdr-services.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">official press release<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Joe Levy, Chief Technology Officer at Sophos, shared his thoughts on the significance of the acquisition. \u201cSophos predicts that eventually all IT security products will evolve into adaptive, managed services as more organizations realize that they are unable to scale resources fast enough to respond to today\u2019s threats.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Additionally, Dennis Griffin, Founder and former CEO at DarkBytes, provided his own thoughts. \u201cThe endpoint is the new perimeter of cybersecurity. The two market moves in rapid succession appears\u00a0to be no coincidence; Sophos seeks to expand their portfolio offerings in the endpoint protection and threat detection markets. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Furthermore, the acquisition suggests a broader effort to expand the capabilities of endpoint security beyond its traditional boundaries.
