Blended Review: SAP ERP

blended review sapWithin enterprise technology, there are several sources for user reviews of vendors and solutions. In our opinion, the Big Three sites for technology reviews are Gartner Peer Insights, G2 Crowd and Trust Radius.

Viewed individually, each site offers the capacity to gain an accurate and deep understanding of how a complex solution is perceived by real users. When taken in the aggregate, these three top solution review sites provide a wealth of information from multiple points of view and taking the time to visit each is a “must” as you think about what technology will be right for your organization.

In order to be considered for a blended review, an ERP solution must have at least one review at Gartner Peer Insights, G2 Crowd and Trust Radius.  Below is a very brief summary of the user review sites for SAP Enterprise Resource Planning. We strongly encourage you to visit each of these sites in order to get a full picture of what users of SAP have to say about their experiences with the solution.

Gartner Peer Insights

At Gartner there are just a couple of reviews of SAP. Each of those “peer insights” is from large companies and both reviews are average, mostly criticizing the installation process, while praising the product once it’s installed. The most salient quote for us comes from a principal architect: “Great Product which has a lot of functionalities. Great Support, excelent LSM and future vision from the vendor.”

G2 Crowd

Over at G2 Crowd, there are over 25 reviews of SAP, with most of them being very positive. Compared to the smaller review sample over at Gartner, G2 Crowd represents users from large and small companies. For us, a one quote from a system administrator jump out: “What I like best about ERP is the consistency of data across all modules. Since I am an ABAPER, we deal with different module specially when customization of standard is needed. Another thing I like best is the standards set by the SAP themselves. It’s a relief to know that as long as I know the table names, the program variables, the naming convention and Tcodes, basically, I can use ERP, whether I am in the company, in the client or in the other company.”

TrustRadius

In contrast with Gartner and G2 Crowd, Trust Radius requires that you register to read full reviews. At TrustRadius, the majority of the reviews are from mid-sized and enterprise companies. In one review the administrative user provides some insight into it how they SAP ERP is well suited for companies that are committed to rolling out as much functionality of the solution as possible. The biggest benefit of the solution is being able to implement a comprehensive solution since more efficiency is gained when more modules are implemented. Ensure there is commitment to the implementation.”
