Recently, Bob Scott’s Insights Top 100 VAR’s for 2018<\/em> list,\u00a0available here<\/a>, was released focusing on resellers from organizations specializing in the sale and implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)<\/a> and accounting software.<\/p>\n

If you aren’t already familiar with Bob Scott’s Insights<\/a>, Robert (Bob) Scott is an informal enterprise technology journalist who has been informing and entertaining the mid-market financial software community with his email newsletters and website for nearly 22 years. He has covered this market for nearly 27 years through print and electronic publications, first as technology editor of Accounting Today and then as the Editor of Accounting Technology from 1997 through 2009.\u00a0Scott’s\u00a0informative, educational, and often humorous re-seller content provides buyer’s with the information needed to help move the needle and make a positive impact.<\/p>\n

The list is compiled each year by industry expert Bob Scott and published on the\u00a0Bob Scott\u2019s Insights\u00a0website. According to the report, VAR selection is based on an annual revenue generated by each reseller.\u00a0When more than one company reported the same revenue, they are listed as tied. Few of the companies chosen or considered are public companies that report results with readily available revenue figures.<\/p>\n

What’s more, other figures provided in Bob Scott’s Top 100 VARs were submitted by the companies themselves.\u00a0 In cases in which resellers declined to provide revenue, estimates were made. Factors utilized in estimating include the number of employees reported and the typical selling prices of the products they carry. Other publicly available sources of information were considered, and information provided for Bob Scott\u2019s VAR Star selection last fall was also used. All companies considered carry products other than financial software, and revenue from those products is included the totals reported.<\/p>\n
