Today, German software giant, SAP, announced<\/a> the general availability of the SAP S\/4HANA Cloud 1808 release<\/a>. SAP S\/4HANA is the company’s staple intelligent Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution, designed to cover all day-to-day processes of an enterprise, such as order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, etc.<\/p>\n

With the 1808 release, SAP is truly showing that the company supports an intelligent enterprise suite by bringing more intelligence to the SAP S\/4HANA Cloud with new machine learning use cases, predictive analytics as well as\u00a0scenarios leveraging SAP’s digital assistant, the\u00a0SAP CoPilot<\/a>.<\/p>\n

SAP S\/4HANA Cloud for Finance<\/h3>\n

“In the area of Finance, we\u2019re introducing Smart Alerts in SAP Financial Statement Insights with our SAP S\/4HANA Cloud 1808 release. This brand-new business exception detection aims to detect unusual business situations in revenue and cost accounts. By pro-actively informing the group controller of potential issues and proposing explanations for unusual business situations, the system takes over a huge amount of manual efforts which Chief Finance Officers usually need to tackle,” said Sven Denecken,\u00a0 SVP Product Management, Co-Innovation SAP S\/4HANA at SAP.<\/p>\n

Another addition in the Finance area\u00a0is the anomaly detection with SAP RealSpend. The expense monitoring application is designed to enable managers to always stay ahead of their cost situation.\u00a0SAP RealSpend is leveraging machine learning in order to automatically detect unusual expenses in the areas of wrong bookings, seasonal effects, unusual amounts or fraud.<\/p>\n

SAP S\/4HANA Cloud for Manufacturing<\/h3>\n

SAP released\u00a0capacity evaluation and adjustment within the SAP Fiori \u201cManage Work Center Capacity\u201d app, so you can now detect and resolve overload situations. By viewing the backlog of overdue orders and operations for work centers, you can now ensure that you\u2019re optimally utilizing its capacity.<\/p>\n

“Another highlight of the 1808 release is part of Demand-Driven Replenishment, our intelligent approach to ensure best possible customer service levels at lowest possible inventory costs. With our latest release, we offer the visualization of buffer positioning by a network graphic, which enables production planners to easily display the position of decoupling points in a multilevel bill of material,” according to\u00a0Denecken.<\/p>\n

SAP S\/4HANA Cloud for Enterprise Portfolio and Project Management<\/h3>\n

As part of the new release, SAP offers a simple project control data maintenance. The SAP Fiori App \u201cProject Control\u201d allows simple project creation and now includes\u00a0new standard fields to categorize projects. What’s more, with 1808, a new app called \u201cMy Projects \u2013 Key Figures\u201d is introduced. This report function to balance projects is a huge help for steering committee members as they can now properly track the status of their projects.<\/p>\n

SAP S\/4HANA Cloud for Sales<\/h3>\n

SAP CoPilot now features a Sales feature, designed to track sales orders with the use of natural language.\u00a0Within the \u201cTrack Sales Orders\u201d app, you can easily find sales documents and the respective process phases.\u00a0Another intelligent feature in Sales is Predictive Analytics for Sales Forecasts. With the \u201cSales Performance \u2013 Predictions\u201d SAP Fiori app, you can utilize embedded predictive analytics functionality in sales business processes.<\/p>\n
