The ForgeRock Identity Platform is built on Sun Microsystem’s open-source IAM projects and includes a set of APIs, allowing for the efficient and rapid development of new services ready for deployment in the cloud. As of 2019 and 2020, ForgeRock also offers the ForgeRock Identity Cloud platform, aimed at helping protect identities on public cloud, on-premises, or hybrid environments. ForgeRock continues to innovate its authentication tools; it continues to innovate eliminating usernames and passwords.

The updates to Autonomous Identity help enterprises reduce risks via role-based access pattern discovery. The solution can now recommend optimized role structures that ensure users have all the access they need while keeping an organization’s cybersecurity posture in mind. Thus, companies and IT teams can continue to customize risk criteria in its role-based access control without worrying about having to rely on frequent data analysis.

In the company’s press release, ForgeRock’s Chief Product Officer Peter Barker stated: “ForgeRock Autonomous Identity has always been about helping IT and security teams work smarter. With this new release of Autonomous Identity, we’re introducing new role management capabilities that tackle tedious, manual access and governance processes using AI and ML to more quickly identify and eliminate risky access across the entire enterprise. These new features provide an even more powerful way to give companies control of their data and also organize that data with optimized roles to more efficiently manage and govern access.”
