Comparitech Releases Its 2025 Ransomware Roundup Report

Comparitech has released its 2025 end-of-year ransomware roundup, which recorded 7,419 ransomware attacks worldwide, a 32 percent increase from 2024. Of the attacks Comparitech noted in 2025, 1,173 were confirmed by the targeted organizations, and the rest were claimed by ransomware groups on their data leak sites, but have not been acknowledged by the targets. Additionally, across the 1,173 confirmed attacks, nearly 59.2 million records were breached (and counting). These figures for 2025 are lower than those recorded in 2024, but with more reports still coming in, Comparitecg expects 2025’s figures to continue to grow.

Delinea Acquires StrongDM

Delinea, a company focused on securing human and machine identities through centralized authorization, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire StrongDM, a universal access management company purpose-built for modern engineering, DevOps, and AI-driven environments. The combination of Delinea’s experience in enterprise privileged access management (PAM) with StrongDM’s just-in-time (JIT) runtime authorization capabilities and developer-first access model will create an identity security platform specifically designed for continuous, always-on environments.

JumpCloud Announces New AI Capabilities

JumpCloud, a unified identity, device, and access management platform, has announced new AI capabilities designed to “fuel safe innovations.” With these new tools, teams can automatically detect shadow AI usage, quickly access critical data, manage machine-to-machine and AI-to-resource access via a unified policy, use conversational intelligence to streamline high-frequency administrative tasks, integrate with other AI tools in their tech stack, and quickly generate debug scripts, and ensure compliance and control for all types of identities, including human, non-human, and autonomous agents.

One Identity Introduces New Features to Its Platform

One Identity, an identity security company, has announced a significant upgrade for its One Identity Manager platform. The One Identity Manager 10.0 release introduces new capabilities for risk-based governance, identity threat detection and response (ITDR), and AI-assisted insights to help teams strengthen their identity governance and anticipate, contain, and manage identity-driven attacks across their complex IT ecosystems. Specific additions include enhanced risk management integrations and new ITDR playbooks for automating key remediation actions.

Pathlock—a company focused on governing and securing enterprise identity, applications, and data—has appointed Damon Tompkins as Chief Executive Officer. Tompkins has over thirty years of experience in the governance, risk, compliance, and cybersecurity markets. As CEO, he will help Pathlock continue to grow its AI investments and expand its footprint among large global enterprises. SavvyMoney and Allstate Identity Protection Announce a Partnership

SavvyMoney, a provider of integrated credit score, financial wellness, and lending solutions, has announced a partnership with Allstate Identity Protection. The companies aim to bring identity restoration services directly into the SavvyMoney Credit Score experience and enable financial institutions to offer Allstate’s Identity Restoration services to consumers. Their partnership will also extend SavvyMoney’s existing credit monitoring and alert capabilities by giving members access to Allstate’s white-glove restoration services.
