Recently, international analyst firm KuppingerCole released the latest iteration of their Leadership Compass<\/a> report for Identity Governance and Administration (IGA<\/a>) in 2020. In the 2020 KuppingerCole Leadership Compass for Identity Governance and Administration, authors Richard Hill and Martin Kuppinger evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the 22 considered most significant in the market.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The KuppingerCole IGA Leadership Compass 2020 bases its evaluations on each solution\u2019s market position and product innovation. Additionally, analysts also incorporate advisory projects, customer feedback, technical forums, and a detailed questionnaire in their report ratings.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The 22 solution providers named in the KuppingerCole Leadership Compass for Identity Governance and Administration 2020 include: Avatier, Beta Systems, Broadcom, EmpowerID, E-Trust, Evidian (acquired by Atos), Evolveum, Fischer International Identity, Hitachi ID Systems, IBM, Identity Automation, Ilantus Technologies, ILEX International, Micro Focus, One Identity, Oracle, RSA Security, SailPoint, SAP, Saviynt, Simeio Solutions, and Soffid.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the KuppingerCole Leadership Compass IGA 2020, identity provisioning continues to push the evolution of IGA. In fact, IGA combines traditional User Access Provisioning and Identity and Access Governance. Businesses prefer IGA products over solutions that provide provisioning or governance alone, instead preferring a mix of capabilities.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Among the findings of the 2020 report, researchers note some of the key capabilities of these solutions. These include end-to-end identity lifecycle management, access entitlements, workflow and policy management, role management, access certification, and access intelligence. Other key capabilities include dashboards and reporting.\u00a0 Meanwhile, access governance becomes increasingly more sought-out capabilities for organizations requiring visibility across the IT infrastructure.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Additionally, KuppingerCole identifies a lack of basic IGA capabilities can leave organizations exposed to risks originating from inefficient administration of identifies and access entitlement systems; clearly, more advanced capabilities prove necessary to securing modern business networks. Moreover, apart from core capabilities, KuppingerCole notes the importance of user experience, automation support, and ease of deployment in IGA solution selections.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Overall Leaders in Leadership Compass IGA 2020<\/b><\/h3>\n

In the KuppingerCole Leadership Compass for IGA 2020, researchers selected eleven vendors to receive the title of Overall Leaders. These include SAP, Hitachi ID, RSA, Broadcom, EmpowerID, One Identity, Oracle, Micro Focus, Saviynt, IBM, and SailPoint. As KuppingerCole notes in the report, this list mixes well-established players in the IGA market and newcomers alike. Further, the researchers indicate that some Leaders receive their titles from their market position and others from innovativeness in product and capability offerings. <\/span><\/p>\n

The other half of the listed vendors fell into the Challenger section, with no vendors appearing as Followers. This may indicate the growing maturity of the identity governance and administration market.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
