Ivanti is releasing Ivanti Unified Endpoint Manager 2020.1 with expanded support and management for remote users, according to a press release on VMblog. The vendor has updated its UEM solution to help give organizations the remote visibility and control needed to reduce risk, simplify management, and minimize IT costs. Ivanti seeks to tackle the challenges of an increased number of employees working from home, especially during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Ivanti Unified Endpoint Manager is a unified endpoint management product that formed from the vendor’s enterprise mobility management (formerly offered under the Landesk name) and client management tool. The Ivanti platform provides network-connected device discovery, automated software delivery, login performance features, and IT solution integration. Ivanti UEM implements several capabilities from Ivanti’s Endpoint Manager, including OS provisioning, automatic alerts, and agent and agentless device support.

In the new version of Unified Endpoint Manager, Ivanti added a few new management and support features to help users enable remote user control and management. Unified Endpoint Manager now offers cloud storage for software delivery to increase the availability of software package for users. With additional remote control enhancements (such as full macOS support) and expanded modern device management, administrators can simplify remote user management and extend support for a heterogeneous device enterprise. Finally, Ivanti has added enahnced BitLocker support and added agentOS support.

In the official press release, Ivanti’s Senior Director, Product Management Alan Braithwaite stated: “As the bulk of today’s digital workforce operates from home, IT professionals face a daunting list of new management and support challenges. To help these professionals, we’re delivering a wealth of new capabilities that offer greater visibility and control over user devices and simplify management across heterogeneous device estates. As a result, Unified Endpoint Manager helps IT reduce risks and costs, while increasing user satisfaction and confidence.”
