The article takes a closer look at what MobileIron has done to expand their EMM platform and offerings as their plan to go public in the near future.\u00a0 The company who has long been a leader in the traditional MDM space has been very active in expanding their offerings as enterprises begin to realize the whole capabilities of enterprise mobility and become more sophisticated.\u00a0 They have addressed a few key areas such as mobile business intelligence (BI), support capabilities and app security. Here is a quick rundown of how they expanded their offerings in each of\u00a0 these categories as MSPmentor reports it.<\/p>\n

Mobile Business Intelligence<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cThrough its integration with\u00a0Splunk Inc. (SPLK)<\/a>, a real-time operational intelligence platform, MobileIron said customers will now be able to receive critical information to support threat detection, problem resolution and strategic decision-making, providing customers with additional mobile business intelligence.\u201d<\/p>\n

Advanced Support Capabilities<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe platform update also includes Help@Work, a new way for employees to share\u00a0Apple<\/a>(AAPL) iOS device screens with help desk personnel. This feature allows employees to show tech support the problem, instead of just describing the details of the issue.\u201d<\/p>\n

Application Security<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cTo connect apps to enterprise systems, the company integrated MobileIron Tunnel, a per app virtual private network (VPN), with its platform. This enables organizations to authorize both internally-built apps and App Store apps to access corporate resources behind the firewall.\u201d<\/p>\n
